Raise the Stakes with Blood Orange Double Daddy Imperial IPA

First we doubled down on hops and malt. Then we put Double Daddy in a can. Now we’re raising the stakes with citrus in a special edition of Double Daddy Imperial IPA made with blood oranges. It will be served for the first time on Saturday, April 23, in the Speakeasy Tap Room, and then be distributed.

Blood Orange Double Daddy Imperial IPA contains a complex dose of citrus flavors. Dry-hopped with Amarillo, Nelson, Simcoe, and Mosaic, the aroma is overflowing with grapefruit, orange, and tangerine notes, followed by apricot, mango, and pine. A late addition of blood orange juice and pulp adds an extra layer of flavor with overtones of strawberries and raspberries. Fresh pale malts deliver a touch of biscuit and marmalade.

The first batch of Blood Orange Double Daddy Imperial IPA is an extremely limited draft only release. After being served in the Speakeasy Tap Room, a small amount will be shipped throughout California and then to New York City and Philadelphia. Later this spring a larger amount will be released for wider distribution.
