On December 5, 1933, Prohibition was officially repealed and America celebrated. The era inspires our brewery and we're paying tribute to this great moment in history by throwing a party. Put on your flapper dress, tuxedo coat, and get ready to fox trot. The Luke Doughty Trio will be playing from 3-5pm. We'll have a photo booth to capture the moment and get Prohibition era pricing on select beers using a special password, which we'll announce on social media December 2nd. Pretzelina will also be serving up fresh pretzels at 2pm. Come out and celebrate the end of Prohibition!
The holiday season is upon us and that means a lot of people need your help, including San Francisco's children. We're excited to support the San Francisco Fire Department Toy Program. You can help by simply buying a beer in our Tap Room on Tuesday, November 29th. $1 from every beer sold will be donated. We're also accepting toy donations. We're also accepting toy donations. Firefighters from Station 49 will also be here, so come out and say hello.
On Session Saturdays we bust out our cornhole sets, offer brewery tours, and provide 20% off growler fills of session beer. This week Native Sons BBQ will be here at 2pm. Get here early! Their delicious BBQ goes fast!
If you would like a tour of the brewery, we highly recommend that you reserve a spot online. We have a handful of reservations left, all of which will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Don't wait!
Stock your cellar with our fantastic lineup of bottled barrel-aged beers. We've never offered these limited releases for 25% off, including vintage editions. Take advantage and buy for yourself, or give them to a friend during the holiday season. We'll also have an incredible lineup of barrel-aged beer on draft that you can enjoy with Native Sons BBQ (2pm).
The event also includes the 2016 debut of Barrel-aged Scarface Imperial Stout. The bourbon barrel-aged edition of Scarface Imperial Stout will assault your senses with sweet caramel, oak, and vanilla. A fresh batch of Scarface Imperial Stout is blended into an older vintage that was aged in American whiskey barrels. The resulting beer is wonderfully balanced and delicious.
Start your weekend off with a pint of Prohibition Ale dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin hops, that add white wine, gooseberry, and grape flavors to our classic amber ale. Upper Cut Food Truck, specializing in sous vide cuisine, will be serving homemade sliders, savory bowls and gourmet tacos.
We're serving up beer and laughter with the comedy team from Sylvan Productions every third Wednesday of the month in our Tap Room. Each night 3-4 comedians will take the stage. Sit back, relax with a beer, and split your sides with laughter.

Back from a two-year hiatus, Betrayal Imperial Red Ale is now in a can and we're celebrating the release in our Tap Room with Native Sons BBQ. Pick up a six-pack to-go or enjoy it on draft during the release party. We'll also have cornhole boards in our parking lot to play between sips of beer and bites of great BBQ.
Betrayal Imperial Red is deep amber in color with a creamy lasting head. Mosaic, El Dorado, Cascade and Chinook hops impart aromas of tropical fruit and orange blossom that mingle with caramel and toasted malts. A juicy burst of stone fruits and citrus balance the sharp notes of fresh rye bread. With a bready backbone and balanced bitterness, Betrayal has bright body that finishes softly. Betrayal is 8.6% ABV and finished at 60 IBUs.
Our second annual Halloween Party is back and even bigger and better than before. The event includes a costume contest at 7:30pm, a dance party in the brewery with DJ Peanut Butter Brown, and a great lineup of food from Native Sons BBQ and Big Kahuna Burger. We'll also be tapping a very special pumpkin firkin. Last but not least, our Tap Room will be decorated in a ghoulish Butchertown theme. Tickets are not required, but the event is 21+ only.
Celebrate Oktoberfest in the Speakeasy Tap Room and raise a stein of our new Oktoberfest Bavarian Lager. We'll also have an incredible lineup of food, including Pretzelina pretzels with cheese sauce, mustard, pickles, and sauerkraut from McVicker, and smoked sausages by Natas BBQ. McVicker will also be teaching attendees a "do it yourself" pickling class.
Wash it all down with our Oktoberfest Bavarian Lager. A limited number of 1-liter custom Speakeasy beer steins will be available for $25. With your purchase the first liter is free and each additional liter is only $5 (Oktoberfest & flagship beers only). The steins, seen below, will be available while supplies last. Once you have beer and food in hand, relax on our patio or play cornhole. We'll also have live music. Notice: This is not a ticketed event.

California Love is a collaboration between Smog City Brewing and Speakeasy Ales & Lagers, bridging the rivalry between Los Angeles and San Francisco through a love of Imperial Red Ales. Maris Otter, Crystal Malts, and a touch of Chocolate Wheat make up the malt base, giving it a rich body filled with caramel, biscuit, and dried fruit flavors. Orange peel zest and citrusy hops were incorporated to represent sunny Southern California, while American oak and Pinot Noir grapes were included to embody Northern California. The hop additions feature classic American Centennial, Amarillo and Citra.

The beer finishes with a creamy mouthfeel and a touch of sweetness.
